I got to meet an idol of mine! On Monday night Ian and I went to London to see the newest show at the National Theatre. It is a new play by Neil Bartlett and Handspring Puppet Company, an amazing theatre group from South Africa. I'm using it as a case study, and the production was perfect, and I'm having a great time writing about it, and all of that would be thrilling enough, but I also got to attend a talkback after the performance. And all that would be enough, but what is better, I hung around after the talkback and got to meet one of the founders of Handspring! So exciting, he said I could ask him some questions and gave me his email address and shook my hand and wished me luck on my dissertation, so cool! I acted all silly and girly about it too, which was less cool, but hopefully he just got the impression that I'm just peppy and excitable and not actually crazy.
Can't talk much now, as the kids in the hall are getting back in from a night of drinking and setting off the fire alarms. Awesome.
Shout out to my juicer. Ian and I are about to try a three day juice diet cleanse thing as recommended by my juice cookbook thingy, so we'll see how that goes. Ever bought 44 apples in one go at the store? Try it, its amusing.
