Moving Day

Well, I get to spend the day tomorrow... MOVING! Ok, the moving process isn't too inspiring I guess, it will be an early morning and a long day. Possibly frustrating, certainly tiring, and hopefully not rainy. Not everything was unpacked in July when we got to the temporary accommodation, so that was a small help, and the packing only took two days really, complete with breaks to do our actual school work in there as well, so I really can't complain at all. Three months is a long time to be anywhere "temporary" so getting back to the nice big house is going to be great! I know there are new windows and the outside doors and trim has been painted, and there is new wiring, whatever that entails, and no asbestos, so thats good! What I'm crossing my fingers for, starting with what I want the most, is new carpet, followed by a new oven, and, if I'm the luckiest little unicorn, new counter tops. I don't even kid myself that there could be a full sized refrigerator or a dish washer, that would be lunacy, and I don't think the counter thing is really likely at all. But at least the carpet is a possible possibility.

All of our stuff is in the hall in boxes waiting for the movers. And thank goodness we have movers coming. All we have to do is make sure it all gets into the van, orchestrate where it all goes back at the house, build some new and exciting IKEA furniture, and then spend the rest of the day unpacking boxes and eating delivery pizza off of paper towels.

It has been funny seeing the international students moving into Heronbank, and thinking that one year ago that wasn't me, because I was already moved into my room and in classes full time, despite the fact that term wouldn't start for everyone else for another week. Well, its mostly been funny, also kinda irritating as the students keep wandering into our flat when we're trying to pack. No, this isn't your friends room, this is my room, and I'm in my pajamas and I have a migraine, now please go. Oh well.

So, off to bed, to dream of my new carpet. One that isn't 20 years old or a weird teal color. Ahh...

Shout out to my sister, whose birthday was yesterday. Happy birthday!
