Blog Loser

I've not fallen off the earth, just the blog world.

Hey guys, if you've enjoyed reading my blog over the past few months, then I apologize for being away from it for so long. I guess I have many backlogged things to tell about, vacations, moving (a few times), my dissertation... Life has been good and hectic, those are two different thoughts btw. Its funny, in Amsterdam I was too fed up and annoyed to want to write, now I'm too busy with fun happy things to remember to write. I guess optimal blog conditions are pleasant and boring.

I am getting a lot of writing done, however, as I am well under way on my dissertation. I'm just past the 1/4 word mark, trying to get it to the 1/3 mark by next week. So far its actually really enjoyable. Its easy when the campus is empty and there aren't friends and dancing and craziness to distract me too much.

Anyway, I was just doing some research and was reading a puppetry blog (yeah, those exist and yeah, they count as research) and I thought "Huh! I have a neglected blog I should say 'hello' to!" so I thought I'd at least check in. In the future I will try to post more often (not skip whole months at a time), even if it just includes little notes about my week or short UK lessons. And I will try to not let my dissertation writing influence my blog writing style. But if you catch me trying to pretentiously insert didactic footnotes or taking 25 words when I could have taken 8 to make a point, try to be understanding.

Shout out to the University of Warwick Department of Resident Life. You jerks have now taken almost a month to make a decision you were supposed to take the weekend to decide, namely, where I'm going to live. Which in turn has meant I've been living in temporary accommodation for almost a month. I'd like my home now please. Oh, and when we call to ask if you've made the decision yet, please MAN UP and just say "I don't know," and quit all the "Oh, yeah, uh, that, uhh, we'll definitely tell you tomorrow!" In lieu of making your decision, I will also be satisfied if you in your own homes could keep the blinds open at all times so anyone walking past could see in, as they currently can in my hallways, and keep your front door unlocked so anyone who wants to wander through your corridors is free to enter, as they currently can in my hallways. If you are in the same level of discomfort that I am and still don't rush to make this decision, then I'll stick my foot in my mouth and just be patient.
